Lymm Hockey Club Junior Girls Match Reports
2011/12
16 October 2011 Lymm vs Triton (U14)
Triton 2 - Lymm 1
After a very dull and wet morning the sun began to shine as the junior girls played their first game of the season against Triton.
It was a well matched game and both sides worked hard and created a number of opportunities to score goals, however the efforts of both defences kept the score at 2-1.There was some great passing with the ball moving swiftly along the entire length of the pitch and possession regularly changed from one end to the other. There was plenty of passion during the game with every player giving their all and spirits remaining high.
Well done Lymm!
2010/11 20 March 2011 (Lymm vs Golborne (U12 & a side) A really great game of mini hockey played by both sides. Fast and furious with some brilliant attacking play. Lots of laughs too so we had a fun time. The girls played in pyjamas as a comic relief theme and d raised a handsome £63 pounds for charity too. Final score 4-3 to Lymm.
13 March 2011 Lymm vs Neston (Mixed age) Another sunny day at Neston but sadly not a victory. A tough game against some strong Neston players left Lymm with a 5 nil defeat. Never mind though because Lymmput up a strong fight and enjoyed the delicious Neston food treats after the match...thank you!
6 February Lymm v Golborne (U12) 7-a-side game played at Golborne of a windy day. Both sides played with real enthusiasm but Lymm won the day with a final score of something like 8-5! It was great fun so the number of goals seemed not to matter! Lymm played some great passing hockey and moved the ball about with real skill. Golborne worked hard as they had no substitutes but started to find their form as the match progressed. Great game and well done to all.
15th November 2009 Triton (Posted by Andy Hine) Lymm Juniors played their first ever match on the 15 November 2009. The match was played at Lymm High School against Triton (Alsager). Both teams played extremely well but Lymm proved to be the better side that day with a 2:1 win. Both teams deserve credit for their effort and passion. Quote from the club captain.....
"Today Sunday 15th, Lymm under 14s Girls had their very first match against an older more experienced Triton side. In true Lymm HC form they played with no fear, full of determination and with plenty of skill and ability. They drew the largest crowd of the season so far with a decent number of Lymm Senior players in attendance cheering the side on. It was genuinely a fantastic experience to see these faces full of pride for our new side".
"The scoreline was 2-1 in a well fought and fast flowing game. In fact, our girls played so well, when the final whistle came there were just a few tears brewing and lumpy throats appearing in a couple of the coaches, which shows their passion and dedication to what we've achieved today".
24th January 2010 Triton (Posted by Emily Hine) Triton against Lymm Hockey Club Juniors at Alsager, Triton won 7-4 it was wet and cold but the game was played in high spirits. The game was friendly and ball possession was equal for both teams. Plenty of short corner action, giving the goalies and defenders something to worry about. There were great saves by the first time goalie, who volunteered at the last minute. The game was fast and under control and Lymm and Triton both played well. Great work by both teams.
28 February 2010 Alderley Edge (Posted by Andy Hine)
It was a tough game against a well practiced, stronger and probably older side. Even though Alderley Edge won the game we were very pleased with the fighting spirit of the Lymm side. The second half was a clear improvement with Alderley contained much better and Lymm had some exciting break aways towards the Alderley goal. Katie Boyd must get credit for standing bravely in goal against a series of withering shots, at which even the men's thirds would tremble! Lymm had some excellent defensive play and plenty of short corner practice, ;O)
March 7 2010 Neston (Posted by Andy Hine) What a game! A close match and sadly lost in the last few minutes from a free hit in the Lymm 25m zone. Final score 3-2 to Neston. An entertaining game with pretty even sides. The weather was lovely, the Neston chips and sausages went down a treat and the Parkgate ice creams on Antonelli cones made the loss of the match a distant irrelevance! Well done to the team and better luck next time.
21 March 2010 Triton (Posted by Andy Hine) Well the last game of the season for the girls and a superb performance. Final score was 1:1. The final minutes were nail biting as the two sides battled to the end. A fitting end to the season and an honourable finish against Triton with an even score at the end of the season. Oh and the Juniors team dressed up too for Sports Relief. Talk about milking it!!
